LAST EDITED ON Jul-17-09 AT 02:57PM (MST)[p]Anyone been scouting Vernon so far this year? If so, I'm curious as to what quality of bucks you've been seeing?

I had big plans of starting my scouting trips last weekend, but it's been one disaster after another around here. My wife fell and tore ligaments and tendons in her right ankle a month ago, and over the 4th of July weekend two of my daughters wrecked on my 4-wheeler and buggered them both up. My 17-year-old is going in for surgery on the 22nd to have a crushed collar bone repaired. I've pretty much had to take on the role of full-time chauffeur, cook, and maid. Not complaining, just haven't been able to get out into the hills like I planned to.

Curious what the horn growth looks like with the wet spring and if there's any bucks left after the poachers got through out there?

wow, looks like you are using up all your bad luck before the hunt so there will only be good luck left.

There's still tons of deer out there. Just find some good looking country and go scout it and you'll see deer.

Man, I hope so! It's my oldest daughter who has the permit and I hope we can find her a good buck.

i also have that tag and some of the better looking bucks i have seen have been on simpson mountain

And some of the best bucks I've seen have been on the East side of the unit.
