I left work yesterday at 5 and after spending some time at home I went to Lehi from Logan where I am going to school. Then this morning at 3am I woke up and drove to the gas station the my dad and I elected to meet at. I got there at 6:45 after seening deer cross the road in front of me for about a half hour before I got to where we met up. So we drove up the mountain and drove some roads. My dad is partially disabled and had his oxygen on the whole time, but he wanted to bow hunt with me like we did when I lived at home. So we drove from 7 to 8:30 and saw 41 deer. I passed 4 little bucks and then this guy popped up. I jumped out of the back while the truck was still going slow and my dad drove 50 yards. So I ranged the tree by him at 71 yards and I put my 70 yard pin on him and over shot him. So I nocked another arrow and shot over him again. So I put my 60 yard pin on him and drilled him low through the front shoulder. He ran 10 yards west and back to where I shot him. He died two feet from the first arrow I shot at him. Man he was dumb. I only had today and tomorrow to hunt before heading home for work, wife and school so I was really lucky to get this buck. I only saw 5 hunters and I knew 3 of them and talked to the others. This whole pick your region thing is okay I think. Thanks for checking out my buck!

Hey Dillon way to get it done. Just for fun you my want to go put your post up on the thred ' ROAD HUNTING THE BOW HUNT'

Nice job buddy. That is great that you get to spend some time with your dad doing what you love. I have a disabled brother and that is what he looks forward to every year. You do not fall under the term of "Road Hunter Guy."

Congrats

No I am not a common road hunter but I do understand the term. I was one when I was young and didn't know up from down. Personally I hate driving down a dust dirt road while tailgating ten other trucks. I love hiking. This summer my wife and I went on a scouting trip into the Cache South looking for deer and elk over night with the backpacks, sleeping bags, and hammocks...it was awesome...12 miles long...and we saw no deer. However, we had a blast!

Thanks for your comments guys. Now I just need to fill my elk tag.
