Nevada - Jarbidge Wilderness

Thinking about heading to the Divide Peak area just North of Mary's River Peak for an early season mule deer hunt this year. Pretty excited about doing a light weight backpack hunt for 5 days in the wilderness. I remember there use to be decent size deer in this area, but it has been a long time since I've been in that country. Anyone have any info from the past couple of years? I know there were some fires in the area, but I think they were more in the North part of the wilderness area.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a fun trip either way. I'm jealous! Good luck!

I have a buddy who hunts this area and he has gotten a couple of very nice bucks. Good luck, Jarbidge is a great place. fatrooster.

Last season while driving to Idaho to hunt I met a guy in Ely, NV. at a gas station. We talked a while and he said he had been applying for the "Jarbridge" hunt for 20 years and finally got drawn. He was as excitied as a "puppy with two peters"! He claimed the "Jarbridge" was "full of quality bucks". I am not farmiliar with this area other than the road signs on Hwy. 93 at the Idaho state line. But if this guys "giddy" anticipation is any indication of the bucks to be "had", I will apply next season.
Good luck to all Elk and Mule Deer hunters this season.
