Yes, it's just as it sounds.
My partner called me in disbelief as he just watched and videoed four bow hunters, two carrying rifles, two carrying bows. They killed one mule deer with a rifle a 27in 170 class. Then they hooped, hollered & high fived just like they had killed it with a bow legally. Then the other two fired 3 shots in the next canyon over, but they were unable to locate the buck that there sure was also poached. I just finished making a copy of the video for the DWR, and all I can say is these guys are screwed. When it's over I will post the video here for everyone to see, as I'm sure someone on MM will know them. It's not like they are kids as they look 30+ in the video. Just makes you wonder how many other years they have snuck into this area doing the same thing.

Wow. Freakin' sucks. Hopefully DWR can catch them and charge them with poaching. Bastards.

BTW - What state was this in?

That's Good News Justin!!! Great job!!

Sounds like a bunch of sick individuals! Hope they get the book thrown at them!!

Every member of MM should email the DWR and ask them to pursue this case to the fullest extent. Then we should all pressure the Prosecutor and Judge to hand down the maximum penalty. These guys did this in a thoughtout manner, not a decision on the fly and they should make examples of them. This crap has got to stop!

2- point, that is an excellent idea.

In fact, how about UBA, BOU and some other hunter advocacy groups issue a public statement about this case?

Thank YOU Justin, for spending the time you do in the field, and always with a camera!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-22-09 AT 11:33AM (MST)[p]Only one guy is getting charged with poaching! the other three are getting charged with being an accessory.. I think they all should have been charged with poaching as that was what they all intended to do. Not sure what the final charges will be but I hope there stiff. If it was me or you they would throw the book at us..

Thanks for looking out for our animals and honest sportsman! The only way to control what goes on in the feild is to police it ourselves. Hats off to ya! Hope everything goes wrong for those clowns! I look forward to the day when I can contribute to the prosecution of such idiots!

Thanks Justin,

I wish they all got charged with poaching but 1 is better than none. Tell your friend nice job and keep up the great work!

What a bunch of low life thugs.

Thank you, from Idaho. We need more of us to take such responsibility.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

I hope those Bastards rot in Jail...Makes me sick ! I hope they lose their trucks, guns, and hunting privilages for life!!! Also hope they get their pictures posted in the paper!

Good job, Justin.

I'm also glad to see these guys get caught, but you've got to be more careful with your Subject lines. For a minute there, I thought we were going to hear more about 15" saddles or get a warning to stay off of Pat Whitworth's place up in area 71 in Idaho.

It never ceases to amaze me that people think they are exempt from the rules. Hope the DWR makes an example out of these "good ol boys"... suckers shouldnt be able to hunt the rest of their lives.

reward? point or tag?
just asking.....I ran into 3 differant group of retired folks who do one thing and look for law breakers during hunting season!that was a LE deer hunt!

Nice job Richens! What a bunch of rejects.

I imagine they are also trespassing if they are up on one of your pieces in chalk creek.

Imagine the conversation if you met that group on the trail.

You: Why are two of you carrying bows and two of you carrying win mags?

Them: These two guys are archery hunting and we brought our guns in case a coyote jumps out.

Glad to hear that they were caught!

To bad there are many other cases that do not end that way.

If dirt bags like that wan't to kill something that bad why don't they just pay to hunt on a Elk or Deer farm?

I love turning in poachers!I get to do it without a badge on now,and savor every one.But the a-holes will still be around the next bend.If we don't help the LEO's they will be overwelmed.Thanks.
