Moving Muley's

Well I think the colder temps and maybe some pressure on top has got these bigger bucks moving to their transition zones. The bucks I had been watching appear to have moved off the top by the last day of the Utah muzzle loader hunt.

I was out yesterday exploring the low lands and didn't locate deer in the area I tend to frequent. That means those good ole boys are help up in the mean and nasty thick mid range. It has been dropping down to the upper teens on top at 9,000 feet in this area. BRRR, cold, but the oak trees are nice and colorful.

Just wondering what others have noticed. P.S. there was no one hunting on top by the end of the muzzle loader season. There were only does and a few smaller bucks. I can't believe all the medium and large bucks got taken out on the muzzle loader hunt.

I had the same experience during the muzzy. It may have had something to do with pressure, but in usual spots on top, the bucks were no where to be seen even by the third day of the muzzy hunt. It was very different from last year. Now I'm in trying to decide what to do for the rifle.

Good Luck, hunting the transition zone can be tough sometimes.

You aren't just a kidding. The transition zone in the area I hunt is steep, rocking and thick. It has moutain mohgany, pines and scrub oak. NASTY, NASTY, NASTY!!!!
