CO Question

I'm considering whether to use my preference points next year in CO, currently I have 4, so I will have 5 next year, looking at a rifle hunt, preferably 3rd season, I know that the real premium units are out, but am looking for suggestions on some units to start researching. A 170 buck would make my day on a hunt like this. Again not looking for any specific spots, just some units that might fill the bill to start my research. Thanks in advance and feel free to PM me if you want.

If you have 4pts going into next years draw do you get a 5th point as soon as you put in for the draw? Or is it only if you don't draw?

Only if you don't draw. He will go into next fall's drawing with 4.

LET SAY A UNIT TAKES 5PTS TO DRAW......YOU HAVE 4 POINTS WHEN YOU APPLY........ DOES IT COUNT AS 4 OR 5 POINTS FOR THAT YEAR ???

IN OTHER WORDS WOULD A GUY DRAW IN THAT CASE ??? I BELIEVE ITS WORKED MOST YEARS FOR US THAT WAY..........YD.

if you have 4 going in then that is the number you need to use to determine your draw odds. you will not have five until the year after.

I concur with jd. If you have 4 points today, and it takes 5 to draw next spring, you will NOT draw.

With bonus points (as in Utah), you would have 1 for your current application and 4 "bonus" point entries for a total of 5 beans in the pot.

But with Colorado's preference points, you only ONE chance and that is with 4 preference points. people with the most preference points are picked first
