Colorado Deer Vouchers

I have a question. I have been watching the voucher prices. They have come down some 20-50% in price in most cases? The second season is only one full day away. What do you guys think? Are these LO's going to just eat the tags rather than drop prices to dirt level bargains? Or do you guy's think they will do whatever it takes to sell them? I am personally kind of surprised that the tags are not going for "best offer." I am also surprised the people selling them are not trying to get a lot of visibility right now letting people know they can bring all offers?

What are the opinions out there on this subject? I thought the vouchers would go for best offer, but it is looking like they will just eat the tags.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-15-09 AT 12:39PM (MST)[p]I was looking all over yesterday wondering that same thing? I bet a lot of them eat the tags or just give them to friends if they go unsold. i do wonder tho...

you lookin' to buy?

ktc, did you get your map in the mail?

Yes, got it today. Thanks Travis.

Am I looking? Not really. I guess if the right deal in the right area came along I would consider it?

Where are some good places to look for vouchers for sale?

Do you have to buy them direct from the landowner?

I havent been following the prices. I was so disgusted at the prices this spring I said screw it. I hope they eat them!

The brokers don't eat them, the landowners do. I'm sure the brokers promise them pie-in-the-sky and don't come through as advertised. Its a bunch of hyped b.s. and buyer beware. I especially like the wording "sleeper area for big bucks". hehehe Somebody shoots a big deer in an alfalfa field last year and suddenly we are re-writing the record books from the "sleeper area."

I would think, this late in the day, an offer would be considered if not accepted. If I'm a landowner, $500 is a lot better than nothing.

I have seen a few best offer tags around. I think the land owners know if they try to sell them for cheap close to the hunts, the hunters will catch on and not buy tags until they come down a few days before the season starts. If they stay firm on their price no matter what you either pay it or go without.

I chose to buy my tag when they were first available. I just want to hunt. but then again my tag is way less then what the top units are going for.

well put buckspy......These LO's had it so good for so long that they got spoiled with getting premium prices. I'd wager that most of the tags are not wasted. I think LO's will either get their asking price or give the voucher to someone in the family or even use it their self.IMO there aint many tags in CO worth more than $500-$1000.

They have it made. You don't even have to let the person that buys the tag hunt on your property, why not just sell them for cheep at the last minute. I would rather have $500 a tag then a couple unsold tags.

If I lived closer to Colorado I would sure be looking for cheep tags.
