Little Guy

Took the little guy on his first deer hunt on the Pauns. Made the mistake of taking him scouting hard all day Thurs. & Friday. By the time opening morning came he was ready to shot a yearling and be done. We found some nice ones scouting, but they weren't there opening morning. That evening, we saw this buck and he begged me to let him shoot it and I told him it was his hunt and he could take it if he wanted. He shot it twice and it went down. Three shots later it was still just laying there looking at us and then got up and ran away. He was pretty sick thinking it got away, and questioning his shooting skills, but it only went a few yards and piled up. It turns out he had hit it good every shot. The smile says it all. congrats to you and your boy on a successful hunt. a few days in the woods with your kids, ending with a nice harvest are all a guy can ask for.
