This by no means is a Monster Muley but I had to post on here this little guy. Not the deer, which is just a forky, but my boy and how proud he was being with me when I tagged out. You all remember the first time you and your Dad got a buck and this will be engrained in him memory as well as mine. Story goes: We were headed back to the truck and this little buck showed himself and I knew my son was dying inside for me to shoot him. So I dropped him and the fist pumping and yelling began, did I say he was excited. As I went to gut him my boy got his own knife out and asked where to start. Talk about ambitious. Since we were close to the road and we could carry him whole, his job, like every kid should be, was to hold and carry the antlers and head. I think he could have lifted that whole buck up with all that adrenalin he had. Then when we got back to the cabin and had the buck hanging to skin he again got out his knife and jumped in as you can see in the pics. Check out his smile. Calif D8 buck, Enjoy Kurt

It is an awesome feeling when they get excited like that. When my lil girl was 5. We had been hunting and not seeing much when a 3x4 crossed the road in front of us, needless to say I shot it and she was pumped. 3 years later its still the most excited she's ever been. She talks about every day and can't wait to do it again.

That is awesome. Congrats to you on a great time had with your boy. There is nothing better than watching the excitment on a kids face. Truly priceless, as you said.

I've added a photo of my little girl's first "kill". Not quite three years old and already excited about hunting.

Awesome. I am still pumped up for watching my dad shoot a buck when I was 8 yrs old. I was just as excited when I watched the old man shoot a buck this year 20yrs after the first time I saw him do it.
