Ugly Utah Buck

This is my 2009 Southern Utah general season buck. He is most certainly not the biggest buck around, but kind of cool. He was in full velvet until he took his death slide. The velvet still had blood in it and just came off in your hands when touched. He had one testicle about the size of a peanut. A couple of questions for you biology majors. Would he ever shed his horns? Would he keep growing the same set just longer and maybe more points? He had good teeth but a huge body and track I estimate that he was 5-6.

J/K about the nuts.

Heres a couple of similar deer from Wyoming a couple fo years ago. The velvet muley was a lot like yours; big body, soft velvet and he had no testicles. It was the tallest(bodied) deer I've ever seen.

This whitetail had a similar whacko frame but normal boys and had obviously shed the velvet.

I think every serious trophy hunter needs a cactus head in the collection! I'm jealous man!

BTW Kennecot has a herd of 5 cactus bucks we keep seeing on Bacchus HWY and Old Bingham HWY in the cut grain. They were all in velvet yesterday still and there are some absolute toads in that group.

They say a true cactus buck will not shed, but continue to grow new points apon old. I watched a local cactus buck for 5 years, and he did shed, but very late in the winter and still in velvet. Each rack was different but all were messed up.

If i remember right...that nasty wyoming buck had ticks and everything all over it...nastiest thing i have seen! Is this Ryan?? Im phil's lil step bro. Good to see ya on here!!
