I know he's not what most would consider a monster by any stretch of the imagination but I was lucky enough to have all 4 of my kids with me as well as my wife which made the kill that much greater. I has hunted my a-- off during the elk hunt so I was feeling lazy opening day and decided to stay in the truck. I had passed on a dozen or so smaller bucks throughout the day. In the evening we decided to drive on a road that I had heard was as nasty as can be but in my Powerstroke with 37" mud tires and 8" of lift (that long wheelbase can do some incredible things) I knew we would be ok. It was just about dark when I spotted several bucks walking through the quakies and could tell one was decent. All my kids were so excited I had to jump out of my truck, sit down right in the muddy road and have my 300 mag sing his tune. Down he went from only about 250 yards and the high fives began! He's a funny buck that is a 4x7 25" wide and has a neat fishhook on his left side. Let me know what you all think of it. Thanks If your family will go take them because they make the world go round!

That is a sweet buck! What are you talking about saying he isn't a monster? He is a flipping awesome buck!!!! I love his big swooping main beams, what great character. Even better to have the kids in tow. That makes for some priceless memories.

That would be one super sweet family outing.!! Great pictures and congrats on a great buck.

You have given your family a memory that will last a lifetime. To me, a hunt like that ranks up there with getting your buck of a lifetime. My little ones are all grown and away, but I have vivid memories of just being out with them, whether we succeeded in even bagging a buck or not. And that is a pretty nice buck to boot! And what future Monster Muley hunters!!Great post!

a family hunting together and a nice buck to boot, it don't get much better then that. It what lights the fire in those little guys. Love the picture of the kids and the buck together should have that one framed.
