Anyone hunt around the rio blanco lake area unit 11, scenery canyon or tachute canyon area? how is the hunting in this area?

It sucks. there are too many texans and californians. If you had a fourth season tag it might be decent. but early it sucks. the deer haven't moved in there yet

Spent 2 days back there last week and only saw one other hunter. Nice area but no animal activity. I actualy walked back quite a ways into both canyons you mentioned and also trecked into Hidden Valley and one other that I can't remember the name right off hand.. Anyways, very very limited sign seen for either deer or elk. As stated previously the area did get trompled pretty hard earlier on and most of the animals still just have not come in yet...Truth be told the locals do refer to the area as Texas and Califonia Hill since the largest sum of hunters in the area are from either state and that being said the area gets hunted VERY HARD. If you can look a bit more to the east just a couple of miles at that WSA...Good luck
