Awesome Wasatch Extended Archery Buck

LAST EDITED ON Nov-25-09 AT 10:41AM (MST)[p]Here are pics of the awesome archery buck that my good friend Matt Bateman took yesterday. I found this buck the previous day but we could not make a move on it. We found it again yesterday and put a plan together to position Matt for a shot. After quite a hike, Matt got in position and I moved above the buck and bumped him. As luck, or fate would have it, the buck moved past Matt and he made an awesome shot through a small window in the thick oakbrush! His arrow went right through the bucks heart and he was down for good in less than 30 yards! He is 28" wide and will score between 185 and 190! Congrats to Matt on making an incredible shot!!! Couldnt have happened to a better guy and I'm greatful I was there to be a part of it! Congrats buddy!

Great Job guys, I watched Kip in action this year hunting near him in Colorado High Country. It was the first time I met him in person and I will say this, he goes hard, high and repetative with alot of desire sun up to sundown. There is no giving up and when he does to head home he still has a smile on his face which only says to me he loves the high country and chasing Big Mulies. I saw him do the same thing he did for Matt for another friend of his in Colorado. He is not selfish and enjoys watching his friends take respectable bucks. He is the kind of guys must of us would share camp with any day. Again, congrats to both of you. PS...nice article in EBJ Kip!

Hey Matt way to go he's a butte I would know Ive watched him grow up for the last three years I deliver ups in houses just the other side of city creek canyon Ive seen him to many times to count just off the side of the road literally only 15 to 20 feet away he ran with another big 4 pt and he got shot to Ill miss seeing them but Im glad for you I would love to come see him let me know if thats possible Ive even got pics of him on my cell phone in the velvet he is definitly a real stud of a buck
