My daughter shot this buck with only twenty minutes remaining in the season. What made this hunt great for her wasn't just the harvested animal but her persistence. Not only homework and b-ball practice 6 days a week but she came down with a heck of a cold, and she still kept hunting. She had plenty of chances to shoot a slick-head(youth tag) and smaller bucks but she was patient and held off until the last twenty minutes left. I picked her up from practice and we headed off on the last day. As I was glassing an area she noticed this buck walking a ridge on aonther side and we were able to get into position and she nailed him from about 250. Good season!!!

Yes it is. We moved to Oklahoma in 03 and came back in 07. She got to hunt white-tails back there and she found out real quick just how different it is. Chasing quail and chukars probably helped her out a little.

Congrats on a great season. Nothing like taking your kids hunting. Thank you for including them!

Awesome!!! Congrats to your daughter on a great buck and for hanging in there and getting the job done with time running out! Is she as clutch of a player on the court?

Yes she is on the court and the softball field. Unfortunatley now she has to draw with the rest of us old farts, so she might have to get use to not getting a tag. Good news is we have 13 year old twin daughters that will draw some where this year. Putting in for the draw is getting real expensive around our house these days.

Yah we had it mounted and hopefully it will be done soon. She along with her two sisters are wearing me out about it. I will post the mount pics as soon as we get it back.

It is rough in that area. With it being the last day of the hunt I didn't take anything because I really thought we wouldn't get anything. No Knives, flashlights, nothing. when we finally got to the deer it was pitch black and no moon light at all. I told her we could return in the morning or head back home to get some equip and then come back for her deer. She absolutely refused to leave her animal so off down the mountain dumb old dad went with an un-dreesed deer and no light. By the time we got back down the mountain, loaded the deer and got home I was so whipped that I had to have a buddy come over and take care of the rest. Thank god we only live 15-20 minutes away.
