"rodsroost" here on MM asked me to post some pictures of his STUD buck that he just got back from the Taxidermist.

This thing is a TOAD!!! He is a beautiful Central Utah BUCK!! I asked Rod where he shot him he said "behind the shoulder" and I asked when and he said "on the deer hunt"......So maybe he will come on here and tell the story. Either way this buck is a great Utah buck......now if I just could talk him into letting me hang it in MY house!!!!

>he's gotta be a deadhead... And
>not the buck either.

>Nice Buck

Not a dead head. His hat said SFW on it so we made him turn it around so people wouldn't give him crap about supporting them. lol

That's going to make an awesome wall hanger! Lotta bone on that buck and would love to see that guy out on the hillside anytime, any hunt!

From a scoring point of view, there's some differences in length of points, one side against the other but man, that rack of antlers is very impressive and looks like a great mount!!

Congrats!!

Great looking Buck Would take one like him anytime.
I think he shot it right over the garbage can on that hill right there. LOL

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

central Utah! wow who said there are no big bucks in Utah. He must have shot it out the truck window.

major congrats to the hunter. The buck looks like a mirror image to a buck I hunted this year. only the one I hunted had the cheaters on his right side.

Thanks FLEH for posting the pictures for me.The buck scores 185.I dont care about the score. For me personally, its about memories.I killed this buck back in 1970.My son,HuntingJLC has been telling me that this rack would look alot better mounted than just on a plaque. This year I was able to get a cape off a buck taken on the Muzzyloader hunt.I took the cape and antlers to my buddy Harvey Hansen in Gunnison,Utah to have him taxied. This was in Oct.He said he would have it done for me by Christmas. He called me this past Friday, saying that it was done.Man what a great Christmas presant!Hes not the biggest buck nor holder of any records, but to me,everytime I look at him hanging on the wall,I remember the hunt and those that were with me that day.My grandfather, father and 2 of my other hunting buddies that were with me that hunt have since passed on.Its a trophy of a lifetime in that respect and everlasting memories made that makes this buck so special to me.ThanksROD)

1970 ya he must have shot it out the truck window :-(

how in the hell do you get a taxidermist to do a mount in 2 months where im at were lucky to get one back in a year more like a year and half or more.

Here in NY I can get my muleys in before they start to kill whitetails in any numbers and I can get them before Christmas.
I took a whitetail in this year and it'll be May.

A great looking buck, made 10X better with that story! Congratulations rodsroost!
