My buddy's 199 1/8" gross Texas buck from Nov 2009. This is the third 190"+ buck we've taken in last two years.

Wow what a fine buck. My inlaws live in texas, maybe that will give me an reason to go visit them :)

Nice buck congrades to you .One of my customers just brought in two muleys from texas that him and his dad got . One is a 30 inch 4x4 monster 190 plus buck the other is a 5x6 about 26 inch wide both buck are nice and heavey like the buck in the photo.
I never new texas had such nice muleys, but it did cost them 5000.00 to hunt . to much money for me.

I've been seeing nice deer coming out of W Texas on here in the last few years.

Congratulations. That's a beautiful buck.

Well here's another from West Texas (November '09).....it'll be the new Texas State record typical. I'm told it will net 203"+.....

Those last one come from around Odessa and were fed Purina pretty heavy great deer none the less

Fortis, Thanks for posting up that pic. It's a true monster buck, if lucky, a once in a lifetime kind of deer! What a Pig!!!

But, 203 net? I know that's just what you were told but I really don't think so. Not net. It is obvious, at least to me, that that buck has way too many deductions to "net" anywhere near 200"

Hell of a trophy buck though!

Joey

sage, I agree with you on the deducts. However, I'm told by the taxidermist that the buck would gross over 220". We'll see how it turns out. Like you said, buck of a lifetime for sure.

If you look at the side without the trash I just do not see more than 85-90 inches of antler and that is stretching what I would guess the actual measurements are. The G-4 on that side is at least 3 inches longer than the G-4 on the side with trash so that would be deducted from net score which would make the net for the clean side around 82-87.Double that and you get 164-174 plus spread minus trash. So 170ish +26 (generous guess on inside spread) - 7 (visible trash) = 189 net. If I had to bet I would bet the net score would be a little lower than that even. However maybe the picture really hides the score. Fantastic buck either way!

Romulus, not being argumentative here by any stretch because I haven't actually seen the buck. However, this hunter has killed several bucks off the Jicarilla, several in Sonora, etc. In other words he's a very "seasoned" mule deer hunter who's scored numerous big deer of his own. His green scores were 220+ gross/ 203" net green. Time will tell.

203" net... non typical? I might agree with that from what i can see. Stud buck and kinda sorry to bring it up but anytime scores are mentioned, i look see what i think and these forums are for our comments. :)
