The hairy peckerheads really screwed it up for me today as I had the big typical at 100 yards and couldn't get my @#%$ shutter to trip!! By the time I got it all figured out the dogs had milled around and spooked them over the far hill, they left this sacrifice buck behind.

They moved over one ridge and gave me their usual snobbish looks of "You're fat and SLOW!!!"
The bucks are definitely bacheloring off more now with the old fraternity formation.

Squirrel,

Thanks for taking the time to post up your pictures. The deer that you've been posting look like they're in great shape. Please tell us that you haven't found any dead fawns or older deer that have succumbed to the cold temps yet.

Keep walking those dogs,
COBUK

Nice, keep it up. Looks like you are having a ball. Not quiet like with a gun in hand, but looks pretty fun for this time of the year!!!

Co. N-cent. We have seen 0 winter kill with a very light snow pack so far. Even with heavy snow they always do well till later in the spring. The bucks are pretty much done with the rut although I saw 2 shoving each other half-heartedly last week. They still have not totally split from the girls yet and it makes for lots of eyes watching to see me and the mongrels coming.

All this digital /computer stuff befuddles me but it is pretty cool if you can just push the right button!! For some reason it becomes more difficult when their horns are great big- just like executing an archery shot...

Sweet pics Squirrel. Shed hunting season isn't that far away. Where are our pics for today? Go walk them dogs man!

- 27 today maybe the dogs can just run behind the truck??? I went w/ the mrs. yesterday and she doesn't LIKE to walk in the deep snow, just down the plowed county roads. So either because of that or this approaching cold front we only saw 3 does. Might be a good day to read the book on this camera and figure out how to push all the right buttons.

We don't shed here for another 6 weeks so there are lots more dog walks to be had.

-27? I agree, its a good time to stay in the house and read the book. Just kidding, get out there and get more pictures. fatrooster.

I like your title on this thread, "Walkin' the dogs". It reminds me of an old girlfriend who used to tell me that she was "walkin' her puppies" when her nipples got cold and perky in cold weather. fatrooster.
