Extended archery question

Just reading the 2010 Utah big game guidebook. My question is the area in SL county south of I-80 & East of I-15 archery only as it states on page 29 of the 2009 guide book, or is it now open to Rifle and Muzzleloader also? I cannot find anywhere in the 2010 book that it defines this area as archery only. (I hope i'm missing it somewhere)

The area south of I-80 is still "archery only". The Division put new language in the guidebook this year regarding Salt Lake County restrictions, because it is undecided if the "archery only" area would be extended north to include the north side of Parleys, Emigration Canyon, East Canyon, and City Creek Canyon. A proposal will be formulated and brought to the Northern and Central RAC's and then back to the Board sometime before the hunts start for 2010. (You can check the thread on this forum entitled "City Creek...." for more info on this.) So, the Division put language in the guidebook this year (2010) to direct people to check prior to hunting what the final decisions are for closing these additional canyons to rifle and muzzleloaders. Although, it might have been helpful if the Division would have made a statement in the guidebook that south of I-80 is still "archery only".

It is still bow only!

Archery is a year round commitment!!

Thanks, Rackster, SW

Sounds like a cluster to me. They need to add it to the map in the guidebook that shows this area with the other areas with special restrictions and state archery only. They also need to show the extended archery areas. (They are different, one consuming the other). I should not have to look for a map that doesn't exist. Page 3 guidebook sends me to look for a map that they don't have. If they don't know what the boundary is going to be then show me last years with a note on it to check again. Put it in the book with all the other areas
