Just got my mount back my taxi. did it in camo it looks bada$$. Will post pics. when I get the camera back from my wife. I think u guys will like this mount!

No I wasnt kidding. Going to take my wife and have hers done in pink camo. But I was really thinking about doing the horns too.
 
I got to be honest. My wife did not like that mount. She is not wild about the one I have either. I think I would have done a shoulder mount. That buck is a stud! Ron

I've never seen anybody do anything to discolor there antlers but if you do it I would like to see the results. I'll have to agree with the previous poster about doing a shoulder mount on a buck of that caliber.

I'll be honest, IT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD, it looks terrible. I want to say it looks disrespectful to the buck you killed, but that sounds like I'm trying to be all liberal, anti and stuff. So not to be all pc about it I'll just say it looks like deer turd. Nice buck though.
 
snow camo would of been more fitting....after all you guys hunt them when they are in the deep snow....

I'm not a fan. Nothing looks better that a ivory white skull and chocolate colored antlers. Hardhorn I agree with ya.
 
Looks great, i would have shoulder mounted that buck in a heartbeat. Iv seen people paint their bear sculls in a metallic gray and the look pretty cool too.
 
Dont like the camo. It just looks like a bleach job gone bad. Great buck however. Probably hard for you to appreciate due to having governor tag every year.

It not a governor tag cant hunt all over the state.And he is a good buck thanks for your input. I dont like the plain white ones it just gets old.Lol
 
Great buck! The mount looks like crap though. It looks like something that would be hung up in Joe Dirt's dads house.
 
Well, Ute, you'll get a lot of different opinions on this sight, and everyone is intitled to theirs. When you killed the buck, I thought it was a great buck and worthy of a shoulder mount. My opinion. Not every is into or can afford shoulder mounts. But I really like the look of the skull design. Very unique. I would never do anything with the horns though. Thanks for showing us. Did you do this yourself, or did someone do it for you?

I could have done a shoulder mount but there always next year right didnt think it was big enough. I like the euro mount too. looks different 4 sure. Yes there are alot of opinions here but there all good dont mind here what other people have to say. Maybe next year will get a 205in net ty. lol

Dang! What a nice problem to have!! LOL Nice to be able to be that picky. Like Yelum I thought this buck is definitely worthy of a shoulder mount. I think you are getting the reaction you are because for most people that is definitely the buck of a lifetime and you are not encumbered by all the same regulations they are. (Read jealousy!) Pretty awesome buck and the euro mount looks great, not sold so much on the camo just yet, but if you are pleased with it to hell what everyone else thinks! It is your buck and you can do what you want with it.

Ya know if you didnt think he was big enough why not let him grow til next year? maybe he woulda been your 205inch buck next year. Its not like you have any competition hunting them in 8 feet of snow at the end of december.
 
I wonder if all the state dorks would be able to kill deer in 8 feet of snow? It does suck hunting in 8 feet of snow. The deer are hard to see and the snow cat is loud. Ofcourse shooting from the cab is always fun. The seats are heated, there is cup holders for your beers. And with no competition, game wardens or respect for the law you can pretty much shoot how ever many deer you want. You should see the other 45 bucks we killed this year.

You don't remember having to dig out all the 8 feet of snow so you could shootthe buck. Mabey you should tell them that you didn't even shoot it you were just digging around in 8feet of snow and happen to find him... That's what really happened remember. effing haters

He had a limp bad. He was good for the time I had left. Dont think he would have made it though 8 feet of snow that 4 sure!
 
Personally I like the camo. How did they do it if you don't mind me asking? Great buck by the way.

I actually think the camo is pretty cool. I've seen it done a few times and its definately a way to get more of a custom euro mount done. I wouldnt do the horns. Where did you get this done? do they have other camo patterns?
 
My taxidermist did it he has all kinds of patterns.And puts it on everything mine was the 1st one he did. Morningstar Wildlife Studio Thad Countess out of Durango Co.

I've been sittin on this one for a few days trying to like it...decided I don't think an any part of any animal would look good camo dipped period. My 100% camo dipped Alphamax looks good I think...someone might not agree with me but like you should say utehunter..."oh well I like it" :)

yes he had a limp what wrong with that?his toes where all funny looking. Not that much snow on the ground and he was rutting it was not after the rut!!!
 
At least it is not the "same old - same old". The dark camo is not my cup of tea. I would really like to see the snow winter camo on a skull. I think nearly white camo colors might really look good.

Way to stick up for your buddy but,his english is fine. Maybe you should read his post again and again, then you yourself might understand.
 
Congrats on the buck. I personally like the camo, but its not for everyone as the pure white is awesome too. To get that buck looking right (not sticking straight out at ya), check out skullhooker.com. Just a recommendation that may show off that big rack better.
