The buck was taken out of the south fork of the salmon river country. They were rideing in to an area where they knew elk were the night before when this buck steped in the trail. Funny how plans change. The buck just stood there like it had never seen a human before, my dad told the other guy he was with to shoot the buck, he missed. So my dad knowing they wernt supose to shoot in that area yet because of the elk took of after the buck so they wouldnt be empty handed and shooting, after a short foot chase he was able to connect. The one thing even more impressive is the size of the body on the buck we have a picture "somewhere" of it hanging next to a cow elk and their is very little size difference between the two.
