AZ loyalty pt. when can use?

If I get my loyalty point this year (my 5th year) after I apply for elk, can I use it in the deer draw in May?

As I understand it, the point stays with you forever, even after you draw, as long as you don't miss a year of applying. All species that you've got 5 years into.

Do I have it wrong?

The guys in the AZ forum straightend it out. You are right, too.

I didn't understand the the point is species specific. I had it confused with the hunter ed point which is NOT species specific.

The bonus point I earn for the elk draw will not apply to the deer draw.
