Need help! Where to enter for Draw

I want to get as many opinions as possible. I am a rifle hunter and now have 10 points for this upcoming draw. Any input on where you would recommend would be great. I know the Henrys is the place of choice but there is still no way I'm close to drawing it. I would like to shot a nice buck 175 or larger, and have the time needed to put into the hunt and scouting.

You don't have the highest odds, but stick with the Henry Mtn. I hunted the Pauns rifle this year with my mom and we saw A L O T of bucks but nothing over 170

I am in the same boat with ten points but I have been putting in for archery. Im not high enough to draw the Henerys archery this year with the point creep so I am seriously considering jumping units. I guess I am just impatient.

10 points for the rifle hunt. NO WAY you have a chance on the henry's. you still have 10+ more years for the archery hunt on that unit with those points

how about the oak creak unit. look at the divisions data on the age of the bucks coming off this unit. you should be able to find a 170 buck

San juan is making a come back and is a sleeper unit if you ask me!

I am a resident. I'm kind of leaning towards the book cliffs i think. I don't wany to wait another 10 to 15 years for the henrys.

Books is great fun unit but they have been putting way to many tags down there and the quality has slipped You use to go down there and see multiple 170 class bucks in the rut after the season now not so much. Fun hunt though

if you are putting in for the henry mtns you still have 58.2 years left if you are the last one in your point group to draw not 10-15 years. how about the Henry mtns management tag you will draw it.

5.25 years till you are the last one to draw in you point group on the Oak creek unit. however with people starting to get educated on how far they are off on the Henry mts people are bailing so this unit and any other unit will defiantly have point creep. the oaks is a good unit for deer

3.6 years until you draw the pauns

1.96 years until you draw the San Juan. this unit is gaining popularity and I might take it over the books because I think you could get a better buck

you will draw the Vernon unit which has some good deer on it as well.

you will also draw the bookcliffs and it is a fun hunt. Ive been out there two years in a row. depending on what type of guy you are it could be fun or you will think you wasted 10 years of your life looking for a buck over 150. A 170 buck is out there on the rifle hunt but they are probably 1 in 250 bucks

thanks for all your input on those units. what if I was to get deep into the roadless area of the book cliffs, what type of deer do you think I would expect to see there?
