New Mexico public land muleys

I am interested in doing my first public land muley hunt in New Mexico. I've been looking all around the New Mexico fish and game site and have seen what the draw odds are for a lot of the areas. But, I don't know if there are any deer there if you get drawn. We are rifle hunters, non-residents and would primarily like to be in Southeast NM, likely some part of the Lincoln National forest or BLM land. If anyone has any tips on the draw or where we might see some deer, we'd appreciate it. We aren't necessarily looking for the king of all muleys, just would like to see some. Thanks for your help.

Unit 30 is your answer. Lots and lots of deer! Not record book deer but lots of them. Mostly desert country but the Guadalupes is more forested, mix of juniper, pinon and Ponderosa.
