Nice bucks, Brian. I drove through there on the I-80 last weekend going to the show and did not see them standing by the interstate. Too bad, becasue it would have stopped traffic.

There are going to be some pretty upset people here pretty quick. There was a whole post about these bucks and nobody would post the pics because they didn't have permission from the photographer. How did you get them???

Well, I guess somebody got excited and sent them out to everyone and thier dog. And now they are posted on the most popular western game hunting forum in the world.
There's going to be some heavy traffic in the SLC foothills the next few weeks. Hopefully they have already dropped and been picked up.

I made this same mistake last year and almost got sewed over the whole deal. A pic was sent to me in email and I posted it up on here and all the sudden people were calling me left and right making threats and saying I would be getting a call from thier lawers and everything else you can think of. Because of that I will never post a pic that I didn't get permission to post first. Just a recommendation for future ref.

That is stupid, if a picture is so important, people should NOT email them to all their friends. Once you hit "send", you lose control of where the file goes from there. Those people who called you are idiots.

when they first posted the spider bull I ripped the pic from the html source code and posted it here......didn't last too long, but nobody would ever "sue" me over it.

Your lucky. Distribution of copywrited photos is breaking the law and you could have been sued over it. It may sound ridiculous, but that's why people get pictures "Copywrited" in the first place.

The pics I posted were in the process of being copywrited, but they were not at the time I received them and posted them. The guy wanted to sell the pics to Bushnell (For a trail camera thing). Apparently I ruined his plans and he was pretty upset. I also got a call from a land owner saying I ruined his life beacuse so many people were asking to hunt the buck on his land.
All this crap because I wanted to share a stinkin photo on MM.

Nice bucks!!!!!! I also got these pics emailed to me a couple of weeks ago. There was a long list of people they were sent to. If the people are so worried about there buck pics getting out they shouldn't have emailed them to anyone. They should have known that big buck pics spread like jenna jameson on the net.

I would tell them to go ahead and try to sue me. They would have a hell of a time especially considering they are the source of the pic and allowed it to "get out" and they were not even copy righted. I would tell them 1st where to go 2nd good luck with suing 3rd if they sue, then I would counter sue for defamation of character. Anybody with a clue won't email a pic they don't want posted on the internet.

Good job on the post Brian. I don't see a copy right sign on the bottom of the photo, so I think you are safe.:)

There was no COPY RIGHTS SEAL so it is fair game to post. Do these so called individuals OWN THESE BUCKS.......HELL NO.

Besides not being copywrighted as it appears, they are really not very good phtos either, so I really doubt anybody would sue over them. Ugly city bucks.

there are no big bucks in Utah, that is on the general rifle areas. Wounder why?

ya those bucks shed and have been picked up already.

I think its all a bunch of bull$%&^... its a picture! I know the copyright laws, and I don't go anywhere near them because of sue happy individuals. I stick to posting pictures that I physically took. I also recieved this in email, great bucks... if they have indeed been picked up, the shedhunter HIMSELF should post up some pictures, i know most of us would love to see them.
-MMM

The guys that have said they know that the sheds have been picked up, should know who picked them up right? Lets see the pics of these sheds! No reason to hide them now.

Meth prices haven't gone down so do what you got to do.

I agree with savage, that is a stupid comment. And who gives a damn about a couple pictures of deer? and who gives a damn about mossback? There pictures of deer people. so what!!!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-23-10 AT 08:06AM (MST)[p]If someone is trying to make a living through hunting I can see how they would get upset about their pics being posted on the enet. If your a guide and you want to put a client on these bucks but now everyone knows about them and where they are that would kind of suck. If your are trying to take photos to sell and you have a photo worth selling it would suck to have a photo already on the net. Even if your a shed hunter and your looking forward to picking up the sheds come dropping season but now everyone knows where the bucks are and you have 20 other shed hunters to compete with that would be good.

Bottom line if you don't want your pics on the enet don't email them to anyone not even your closest friends. Definitely don't tell people where they are. It's like hunting spots when you got a good one you should never share it with others. I've lost a few honey holes through the years by taking some of my closest friends even family members into these spots. No matter how many times I told them to keep it to themselves it always leaked out one way or another.

Are these really SLC Foothills deer..? I only ask because I think that's awesome and I've just never seen anything that big in the foothills around Salt Lake... Or, in my experience, anywhere in Utah for that matter... LOL

there are no big bucks in Utah, at least that is what everyone keeps saying. This way SFW and wildlife board can take more of our tags and give to the rich or make them OIL tags so they can shoot them from the truck window with a rifle.

So I would say they must be Idaho deer.

Nets are for fish!!

I was watching what I think was the same buck all summer only to see him vanish come bowhunting season. Yes, it was on the Front.

Check him out in velvet. I took this picture myself through my spotting scope in mid July, so he still had a little bit of growth ahead of him before shedding. Looking at the length and character of the trash on the left side makes me 95% convinced that this IS the same buck. Sorry about the picture quality, thats what you get when you shoot through the eyepiece with an i-phone.

What do you all think????

Am i the only one who sees a pattern in Utah, quality bucks with over the counter tags and 4 month hunts?

Nope.

I don't think so. The buck in question is a 6x6 not counting brow tines. This buck has some similar looking geometry but is lacking the 6th point on his right hand side. Is it a Wasatch buck??? Maybe there related.

Midnight its not the same buck. The buck in the upper photo is way bigger. Midnight the buck you posted is from Idaho.

I know the guy who picked up the sheds! ;-)

The UT buck has another cheater on its right side. Also, the eyeguards aren't as big on the foothills buck. Similar though.

Who is to even say these are foot hill bucks? The back ground in the pictures could be a million places, He probabaly just said that to get people talking. Stupid topic!!

He said FOOTHILL because thats where the pictures were taken and thats where the bucks wintered........................................................

Sit tall in the saddle, hold your head up high, keep your eyes fixed to where the trail meets the sky...

wintered, summered, slept, screwed who gives a schit? Like I said could be a million places.
