Finally got my favorite bucks' sheds paired up and mounted. I'm pumped the way it turned out. Both antlers are removeable. Anyway, just thought I'd share with you guys.

Removable antlers??? How does that work? Is it like removing a bit from a screw gun or something like that? That is a real interesting concept.

Larry, to be honest with you I have neve put a full tape to him. The side with the hook cheaters scores 93". And guesses on what he might score?

Bates- They are on square pegs that come out of his head. I'll try to take some pics today and post them up so you can see what I'm talking about.

Here's some replica skulls I do that also have the removeable antlers, just to give you an idea of how it works.

Ha Ha Ha... I had to do some adjusting on the antlers to get them sitting where I wanted them. I just snapped a couple of quick pics after I got him done. Don't worry, I have a plenty of wall space in my house for him! LOL...

Elkster that is awesome and thanx for answering my question. I'll tell ya the human mind will never cease to amaze me. I've killed several quality big game animals in my life but my Javelina this year is my very first mount. The taxi said that the only original part of the mount will be the hide. The skull, teeth and obviously the eyes will be fake. I think that's friggin' awesome. What's really cool is that my taxi is boiling the skull out for me and gluing the original teeth in. It's kinda like I'm getting a 2-4-1 deal.

Elkster That did turn out awesome. I like the idea of the removable antlers. Is this the first buck you have done like this. I was just wondering if you could switch out shed sets and have it look just as good. I have two really nice shed sets and would like to do a buck like that but be able to interchange the sets.

"LD" yes it's the first one I've done like this. I had the same thought as you, as far as being able to switch out antlers. Until I found out what a pain it was to get them set right and get them mounted up! LOL...
