Dream Hunt

LV 426 or "Acheron"... Kill me one of those sweet Xenomorphs from the "Alien" Saga...

LAST EDITED ON Apr-15-10 AT 04:45PM (MST)[p]How about 35-40 days in Tanzania with a full bag? That's what it'd be for me!!! Masailand, the Selous and perhaps Moyowasi all rolled into one very grand safari.

STONE SHEEP IN NORTHERN B.C./ & TACK ON A COUPLE OF WOLVES TO BOOT..........I KEEP THINKING AFRICA....BUT I'M STILL JUST LUKE WARM ON THE SAFARI THING.....YD.

Until about 7 or 8 years ago, it would have been to Alaska for a Dall......now I realize Marco Polo sheep are the bigger/better version of them.......so Marco Polo sheep.

(Siberia for a bear would be next.)

Within the shadows, go quietly.

turtle hunting with a knife in the Bass Pro shop enclosure located in Springfield MO. That enclosure has the meanest alligator snapping turtle in the world. It would be almost as bloody as going solo in Vietnam during the war!!

guns are for ******!!

Arizona Strip - the last western state for me to hunt in but not with Ryan Hatch as my guide!

Since I've never been to alaska I'd have to say that would be my dream hunt. But a Marco polo sheep hunt would be hands down the coolest hunt ever

asia marco polo, ibex, and everything else also let me fish for those taiman, done deal.

Cameroon / CAR for Lord Derby eland, bongo, savanna buffalo, western roan and all the pygmy antelope I could bag. I am going on my 1st dream hunt next year for leopard!

Living in the greatest place on earth has it's advantages. I can hunt Stones with OTC tags every year DIY with very little cost. I get to hunt muleys OTC every year that are just as big as the ones on the Strip. The only difference is the Strip is an easier place to kill them. I really get a kick out of the Samson footage where Ryan states that he's in the thick stuff. Up here that is called the 'wide open' stuff. ;) Ain't too much I can't hunt OTC GOS DIY. If I had unlimited money, I wouldn't work and I just hunt my own backyard for the biggest critters in the BC Slam.

If I had a couple critters to pick from that weren't living here, I'd say Polar Bear and Musk Ox.

Even if time and money were no issue I would still be hunting North American/Western Big Game. My Dream Hunt would be either a Henry's Muley hunt or a real exotic Dream Hunt would be a Yukon Moose.
I have some friends and Co-workers who have gone to Africa, New Zeland and have hunted high fenced exotics in Texas. I thought about ranting about it irking me a little when most of them have never even taken a trophy class Muley, Elk, Antelope, Moose ...ect. But I will just say I dont understand the draw of the Marco Polo sheep, African game and other exotics.
I would much rather be up in the mountains hunting the same things I have grown up hunting out West here and trying improve on some of best ones from the past.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-17-10 AT 08:14PM (MST)[p]I used to think like some of you guys, but after a trip to Africa this year my perspective has changed some. I still think hunting mule deer in the west is hard to compare to anything else. But, if I had unlimited funds I would be on the next 1st class seat to the Dark Continent to hunt the Big 5.

I agree w/ Daxter. I've hunted from Mexico to Alaska and never had the desire to hunt anywhere except North America...until recently. Although I'd like to hunt Africa I think for me a dream hunt would have to include Mongolia, Russia or Kyrgyzstan for different sheep species. I realize as my kids get older and more responsibilities pile on free time is more difficult to come by. Hunt while you can when you can!

With endless money I would do it all, but mulies would still be top priority every year.

I would take my dad on a dall sheep hunt in alaska. Its been something we have both wanted to do for a very very long time!

Henry's or the strip for muleys would be my 2nd choice.

NO GUTS, NO STORY!!

I would take my entire family to Africa for a cape buffalo, leopard, sable, kudu, nyala, eland, and elephant. For a night cap I would stop in the CAR on my way back to the states and let everyone kill a lord Derby Eland and then a bongo. then head back to the states and hunt brown bear, caribou then head home and die a happy man.

ego participate in Monasteriense muleys proinde ego sum bardus (I participate on monstermuleys therefore I am stupid)

I'd like the Colorado Governor's deer license for first choice. If I have to pick a single area, it would be the Henry Mtns, followed by th strip.

1. In 9 years, when all 3 of my daughters will be at least 12 years old and I dont' care the animal, just as long as I get to pack out a animal for each of them on my back.
2. Caribou hunt with my dad.
3. Any one of the top 5 units in UT for Elk for myself.

A Self guided montana Big horn hunt and bring a mid 180 class ram home. I was fortunate to live this dream.

Being this thread is in the Mule Deer Forum, i took it we were talking about a Mule Deer hunt...

"where would you go?
I'd be going instead of Marley!!
Joey"

I generally say that i wouldn't want to trade places with someone but in this case, i might be willing to make a exception! :)

What would be fun would be to buy all the big name Governor's Tags and then shoot a spike in each one just to piss people off. ;)
