Got a few pics of this buck yesterday. I suppose he is a cactus buck but it's sure nice to see the antlers coming back!

Most definately he has been packing for a lot longer than 2 months! Non sheder
Looks like velvet to me.
His mother was bred early in the rut. Three years of good conditions, very healthy buck and so he has a 2 month head start on most other bucks.
Not all that unusual. Keep in mind that under good conditions, antlers can grow an inch and a half a day.....

I agree. Why a cactus? Ive seen a few deer with decent growth already.
