I was wondering what you guys think of this unit for deer hunting, I should most likely draw the fourth season public tag. Also if you guys know any outfitters around the area. Thanks

its got some monsters buck down there(Ask Utehunter) BUT most is Private or Rez land, so it not a good unit to draw a tag unless you have something line-up ahead of time.

As stated, most of the deer are down in the low country (mostly private) by the 4th season. That is why it is one of the few units that have an easy to draw 4th season.

So if you can possibly line up some private ground to hunt on, you might do fine. So, finding an outfitter with some private land might be the thing to shoot for.

You might also call and ask the local DOW people if there are pockets of low country that are public.

Now that what I'm talking about. Helping your fellow hunter. Nice

I think he will, I know I sure and the hell would. Hope you have a great season this year.

We drew 75 2nd season as our second choice. Anyone have any info for that time. Is there good public land to hunt on, or are we going to need to pay for private? Just wondering if it is worth the trip. I am on the fence between hunting deer 2nd season or fishing the BASS Central Open on Texoma that same time.

I can't trade info in Colorado, but can trade some really good striper fishing trips and duck hunts here in Southern Oklahoma. Heck I will even put someone(group) on some hogs for info.

I hunted the unit as a non resident for the past 5 years and never been disappointed. Lots of public land and different terrians. I be hunting there again this year and can put you in the right area.
