Pts. to draw co 71/711 3rd this year???

Just curious what you nonresidents out there who drew 71 3rd season deer had to have for preference points to draw this year? I had 3 pts, the guy I put in with had 2, and we didn't draw. Last year it was 85% with one point and 100% with 2. Just curious...

According to the chart, you need 3 and with 2 or 2-1/2 sq. no chance at 0.0%. Count backwards above with 0.0% at the end as ZERO points, then 1, then 2 and with 3 it was 95.8%.

Since you put in with someone with 2 points, your application went in as 2 (not 2.5) Colorado uses the lowest point total as your points in the draw. They do not average

Thanks, guys. Brian, where did you get those percentage statistics? According to the draw odds on here, 2 points was 100%. Did you get a hold of what it took this year somehow?

I understand the odds as you do wallhanger, according to MM huntodds 3rd season you had 100% with 2 points, so according to the odds you should have a tag in hand.

I thought so too. I'm assuming there was some creep for the third season since it's so late this year. Thanks for the responses.

Don't feel to bad I applied for a unit where 88% of the applicants drew with 2 points last year. I applied this year with 4 and did not draw.

Did your preference point total go up? If they reject your app for some reason, you don't get a point for that year.

Yes, my pp point total did go up. 4 for me now, and 3 for my buddy. Wonder if it's worth a call to the DOW?

Absolutely, all three sources of data say that it only took 1 point for nonresidents to draw that tag! Call them.

Turns out I was wrong. Actually, the DOW had told my buddy incorrectly how many preference points he now has. We put in with him having only 1 point, and did not draw. Still shows how unlucky I am since we had about an 85% chance of drawing this hunt. Thanks for the replies, guys. We'll be looking at leftovers when they come out in july.
