Area 18 Nevada Help

Can anyone give me any info on where to start looking for a good buck in this zone? My number three son drew this zone, and we don't know much about it. Walking won't be a problem for him , he's a real mountain goat.

All the big bucks that I have seen come out of there are from fields in fallon.

sorry, I never hunted there, but in most of Nevada you just have to look for water and a little backcountry, unless of course you have permission to access private property.

Northeast of Fallon is the Still Water Refuge, (some great waterfowl hunting, from time to time), to the east is the Still Water Mountain range. The southern 1/4 of that range used to hold some exceptional deer! Find a canyon that has water in the bottom and there should be deer.
I've always approached the mountains from the west.

I bird hunted the southern stillwaters a few years ago in january we didnt see any deer I did see alot of cheat grass it seamed like that country was all burnt up from old fires.I didnt go to the tops of the hills it might be better up higher.
