Preserving Velvet

What's the best method to preserve velvet?

Are there any good links to articles on the subject?

I need to purchase the correct syringes and materials and know how to use them for an upcoming hunt.

I bought some stuff called preserve-it of something like and I have been unable to apply it because the antlers are in my moms extra freeze in southern Utah and I am 6 hours away. But I hope it works. From my research it is suppose to be great. But it also took 4 months to get here after I ordered it.

I got my stuff at Van Dyke's on the internet. I don't recall the name of it right off the bat, but you can go to Van Dyke's website or call their 800 unmber. I did and they were most helpful.

One thing to remember is be carefull handleing the velvet. I messed mine up a little last year loading him in the truck. It won't take much handling. Good luck with your hunt.
