I have been reading around on this website now for a year or so and have read stories about people appling for tags for years and years. Well now i have a 6 month old son and i was wondering when can i start getting him preferance points. What areas would you go after? Would Wyoming 102 be a good one? Or do i just buy the piont every year and then decide when the time comes. Are there any other areas in different states where it takes that long to draw a tag. Thanks for your help

Remember one thing about Tardville!
What might be good this year could be totally screwed up by next year!
When JR is old enough to hunt you'll have to decide then,I'm hoping the younger generation has something decent!

I love not acting my age,
Damn I love my NASCAR race,
And Hell yes I love my Truck!

you can't start getting him points till he is legally old enough to hunt.

I wouldn't worry about it for at least a decade, things are very different from twenty years ago, and quite different from ten years ago. You cant start applying for him anyway.

Even tho you can't start him on points, spring for a lifetime hunting and fishing license now. It is the cheapest it will ever be, and he will get the most use out of it. Even if you move later, it will be advantageous at a later date.

You can buy a Lifetime Hunting/Fishing license for a child who cannot even hunt legally...?? I have a 2 month old girl... Very interested if so...

Depends on the state. Utardia outlawed it back in the 90's...

Forest, if your son is still 6 months old, why dont you start now to save 50.00 a month till he's 15 and he can hunt anywhere he would like to when the time comes he'll have around 9,000. Most, states dont let you apply him until he has a hunter education which will be around 9-12 yrs old.
