Help! WY Region H horse pack in

We're heading to H again in September and this year our father insists on making the trip despite the fact that he has shingles and has a hard time even being outside in a breeze. Toss on a backpack and a gun and there's no way he's hiking in the 5 miles we'll do. We need horses to get hi(us) in.

Anyone have a lead or a solid name? All we want is for someone to take us in about 5 miles, drop our gear and come get us and our bucks after 3 days of hunting. We don't need a camp set up nor do we require a guide...just get our father on a horse and our packs(4 of us) up the hill. Really, 3 of us will hike it in on foot...we always do. We'll call from our sat phone if we need an early exit.

So thats the task. Simple. 3-4 hours each way. Any leads will be appreciated. Thanks.

I cant remember his phone # but his name is Gordon White in Thayne, Wy. We used his horses a few times while hunting G & H. Mostly he would rent horses and tack dropping them at your favorite trailhead.I thought he might act as a packer as well? You might look him up. BH1

I had shingles once years ago. I thought that herniating my back last year was the most pain I had ever felt, but now that you jogged my memory about shingles......THAT WAS THE WORST!!!
I had them in my groan area and just thinking about it hurts me. Thanks for the reminder!!! LOL

If you want to rent horses, call Wan Wolfley. PleaseDear posted his site. Real good horses. I have used them many, many times. However, he only rents, he can't pack you in. So, you would need to deal with the horses.

If you want to be packed in and dropped, you would need to contact an outfitter. I just learned recently that outfitters have to register drop camp locations with the Forest Service, as to avoid too many camps in one area. So, if you have a location you want to hunt, you will probably need to talk with a few outfitters in that area to see who can place you closest.

If you don't have a particular spot you want to be dropped, then any outfitter in the region can help by placing you in one of their already registered drop camps.
Start off by contacting Melanie at Big Country Outfitters. They do a number of drop camps in H, and in some real good areas.
