Anyone Heading Out to the Books

Just sitting at the desk. I dont know that I am going to make it to October for my hunt. Anyone heading out to the Book Cliffs this weekend? Please post pics when you get back.

Heading into the roadless in exactly 3.5 hours. Only 7 more days for me! The October wait would kill me right now, 7 days is already 7 too long.

nice pics you posted up last week. gets the blood pumping! i drew this tag as well. due to a busy summer with a daughter in posse and doing queening stuff july was shot. i had planned on going this weekend but a couple days ago found out i'm being sent overseas for a month and a half with the military. which leaves zero time to scout! i should be back in town just in time to head up. my plan the whole time has been to head in four or five days before the hunt to get some scouting done. bummer deal but my hands are tied on this one.

Good luck on the overseas. If you want to send me an email I can give you my number and give me a call when you get back and I can let you know if I have had any luck and where some animals might be. I plan on taking off as much of the week before the hunt as possible. Probably the only other chance I will have to scout the area that I'll actually be hunting.

I do have two kids that will be doing archery deer and elk this year to keep me busy while waiting for my hunt and I do have an archery elk tag to chase around the cows and spikes. This is my daughters first year hunting so I am really going to focus on getting her into a position where she can get an animal. My son is 15 and never has a problem at opportunities hes just trying to control his nerves now. If their not successful on the archery we can chase the deer with the muzzleloader.

i appreciate the offer! i just might give you a call. thats great that your kids are involved as well. sounds like you'll be just as busy as myself. this summer has flew by to fast. seems like you can't wait for the hunts to get here then when they start getting close you wished you had more time.
