Big typical off Henry's?

Just got a pic of a big typical from the Henry's with the title "New State Record".

Says it 220 4/8th's ???????
 
Did you think it would go 220? It is a nice buck, but I can't see it going that high. I did appreciate the arm stretch though.

Kid that shot the buck has been my best friend for 20+ years. Have seen the buck in person and it's a giant deer. It was taped a few different times after he killed it, cable scored last night, and he's having another official guy tape it again today.

Wouldn't post any pics without his permission.

Along with the cell phone photos that I've recieved of this GIANT, if you're "friends" with the right people on facebook...the photos of the buck on the mountain and at the taxidermist are available there as well. I don't know the hunter personally, but have been friends with the guide & taxidermist all my life...can't wait to see it with my own eyes!!!

I have the picture....great buck.

But I call B.S. on goin 220".
Weak front forks and short main beams....I would be damn surpised if it went 210"....like I said great buck that I would have shot too, but no 220".

Just my opinion.

Wow what a hard-a$$, there's always a know-it-all that's gotta put in their 2 cents (figures it's a "Mathews" shooter, LOL)...thanks for the clarification that "you would HAVE to shoot it too", makes sense that you might be on the fence about this one?!?! I'm not sure which photo of this buck you have, because it must be just a bad angle or something...but one of the many photos I'm looking at right now shows the complete opposite of your description, if you could see this buck from the side as opposed to the front...I'm pretty sure you'd retract your statement for sure.

Ha Ha, nope no photo...at least from me, I made that mistake on a big typical back in 07' a friend of mine had taken...NEVER AGAIN. As far as the score is concerned, I'm not sure what the official "green" score was...I've been told it's been meausred a couple different times by different people, both came up with different scores. To ease a little curiosity, I don't think I'll get in trouble for saying this...the buck is 34.5" wide with 43" of mass, a beautiful buck...the envy of every hunter without question.
 
I've seen some Facebook photos that talk about this deer going 220, well the photos I've seen are of the San Juan Buck that's 209... don't pit everything into Facebook, it is the internet afterall...
 
There is no such thing as an official green score. Nothing is offical until it has been scored by an official measurer after 60 days of drying.

You're obviously looking at the wrong photos then...

A buck of a lifetime no matter what. I guess everyone has their own definition of "weak" measurments on a buck. But, all I can say is that being a die-hard hunter for 17 years there is nothing weak about this deer. He's got great mass and tine length all the way around.

And yes, it has been scored more than a few times now, with the latest being last night by an official scorer. And the gross, unofficial score still stands.

Oh yea...Hey, Utahmulies...I don't see anyone bashin on your Henry's buck. So why are you bashin on someone else's? Anyone can look at a picture and call B.S. Have you seen the deer in person?

Is the hunter really trying to keep these off the net, I recieved the email a couple of days ago with it and I dont even know the guy or anyone who does. pm me your email I will forward it to you!
 
If its already over the net then someone post up a picture!!! This is pointless arguing without proof or verification...

How can you tell me I'm looking at the wrong picture? Did you see the pic I saw? Did you send it to My email? Nope you haven't and didn't. So if your all knowing then post it up!!!

Get out your "damn surprised". I just saw pictures. One measurer got 220 4/8 the other was 219 4/8. 34.5" wide!!!! (according to the email I got)

It's amazing what a little luck and seven (7) scouting trips will do.
 
I bet that buck is just perfect!! I think he might go close to 225" (That is just a guess) I have no proof or idea what this buck looks like but my imagination tells me that this buck is so great that words cannot describe this buck......so I will make up a word to describe this buck.....SCRUMTRULECENT! yep that's him. :7

Utah Typical Pending State Record!!

Wow! I just had to sort through all the crap as I finally am back off the Henrys & have my deer taken to dry for 60 days... I am the Hunter (Chad Kulow) that took this Typical off the Henrys on Monday 8/23.... I will post the pics I'm sure many of you have already seen. I am waiting on copy right for Hi Res pics.. Sry I hope you guys understand that. I had Bob Jacobsen "Jake" Official SCI score tape him out last night. He will Gross 219 4/8 & net just over 210. SCI will be close to 216 4/8... And YES he still has to dry for the 60 days & remeasured before anything is official... Please be patient with me I will have pics, story, & yes the entire stock & shot is on video! My wife did a great job on it..

Sounds like this buck just may be "OFFICIALLY" bigger than the new World Record out of AZ.when its all said and done .Cant wait to see how this plays out.Congrats on a great buck.

The shot in the back of the truck shows what big buck that thing really is! The head on pic doesn't do any justice to the front forks at all.

CKMAXXIS - Congrats!!! I was referring to the comment made by utahmuley on how it had short fronts and beams. I had seen pics of this buck earlier this week and knew how big this buck was.

Net Typical: 210 7/8

This incredible deer still has 56 days to dry.... Then I'll post the official Net for Books!!

Hi Res pics & story will be on Mossbacks site late tonight or sometime tomorrow... I will keep you posted as we get to that point!!
 
BowHntr, just curious who the official scorer was who measured the buck?? Haven't seen the buck in person, but the what a buck especially with archery tackle!

Whoa whoa whoa...lets not get too carried away here.

This guy was clearly able to find and kill a bigger deer than me and I congradulate him for that - its fantastic.

I am in no way "bashing" on this deer. But when I use my freedom of speech and express my PERSONAL opinion that he is a HUGE deer BUT wont score what you originally say, everyone jumps on me like a bunch of hyenas and all of a sudden I am "bashing" on him.

When the time comes and we find out his official score and if it is higher than what I thought, I will stick my foot in my mouth and apologize for calling him out.

By all means, if you want to "bash" on me or my deer, be my guest! You wont be the first. And I promise you it wont hurt my feelings.
It is what it is. I have no disrespect or hard feelings toward anyone.
