Texas Panhandle Muleys

I know these guys don't compare with some of the monsters that are being taken across the country, but thought I would share some photos taken by my 12 year old daughter this past weekend. The smaller buck here is probably only 2 1/2 years old, and he has a very bright future....as long as he learns how to dodge bullets. The older buck has some non-typical points, but really lacks mass. Still they are both pretty good for this part of Texas. Keep in mind that the larger buck in this picture will weigh in the neighborhood of 275 pounds based on other bucks that I have taken in the area. Older bucks here also average about 23 to 24 inches wide on their ear span.

Enjoy the pictures. Good luck and good hunting!!

I hunt the panhandle alot. Those are some good ones for the panhandle area. Where abouts are they (town) not exact location. It is hard to find a place to hunt unless you got land, a lease, or connections.

Sorry but, I can't resist. From what I have been told by the few folks I have know from Texas, I thought eveything in Texas was bigger and better than anywhere else. What's the deal?

These particular bucks are in Roberts County just north of the town of Miami....in Texas that is pronounced My-Am-Uh by the way. We do grow some big bucks, but they are on the big private ranches. LOL

Hey regularjoe, i don't know how to post pics, but i would love to show you some Texas muleys. I have personally taken 208",205",202",201",200",197",190", and numerous 175-185" Texas muleys. My wife has taken some toads as well. Just took live pics of a 240" nontypical in february that is amazing. Look in the past issue of MuleyCrazy to see some of these 200"plus Texas toads. None of these in the magazine were our deer, but came from the same area. Also, checkout the Texas Big Game awards website, look at the pics in region 1 and 2 and look at the scores page also - alot of the 200" plus deer only have official scores listed, but no pics. No high fences or protein feed, just native Texas muleys. Sorry, I don't like to brag, but your comment seemed like a little slap towards Texas.
