Archery buckie 2010

Just thought that I would post a pick of my buck that I took this last weekend. I was hoping for a warm up before my LE San Juan Archery Bull. I got just that and more. I was so excited and to take this buck and I'm now hoping that this is still a warm up and not a cool down for the rest of my bull hunt.

He's a wasatch buckie. I had to come home for work inbetween the San Juan trips.

One of my greatest concerns having a Big Bull tag was too get the "buckagles" when a 350+ bull is standing there screaming and not be able to hold still enough to take a good shot. Hours and hours of shooting can prepare you only so much. I thought it would be wise to run up and try to get another buck under my belt to ease the nerves. Luck would have it that this guy would come by me on his way back to his bed. He piled up after a hundred yards. He's by far my best buck and just hope to get that caliber of an animal on my Elk Hunt.

This could be a phenomenal year for you... I would approach the elk with no pressure nor high expectations after taking such a fine muley. If you put pressure on yourself to do better than the deer, you are setting yourself up for dissapointment. Have a great elk hunt and enjoy!
