When do the deer usually leave the high country and come down lower on the Wasatch and Ogden Extended Archery areas? Do they wait for the snow to push them down the mountain? How much snow does it take? When does it usually snow enough to get them to come down? When does the rut start up?

Lots of questions I know, but hopefully I can put everything together on the extended hunt and bring home a buck.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Go luck guys,

Dillon

Last year where I was on the Wasatch most does and younger bucks moved down at the end of October, bigger bucks came down first to second week of October once temperature dropped and the snow pushed them to rut which was 2-3 week of November.... just wait for temps to drop and good snow. When they go hand in hand Its an awesome time to hunt.... good luck!

never. you should never hunt the front dillon. its a bad place. :) i agree with the above posted comment. wait a while, but definitly go and put some scounting time in. you'll find your monster. i have only ever killed one buck on the front and he surely wasn't easy to kill. the pack out wasn't real nice either. good luck.
