Okay here is the story on the Deer. I have been scouting since the middle of July almost every day. I found this deer and a couple other nice ones towards the end of July. I have been watching them along with probably 20 other bucks hanging on the same ridge.
Opening day was Sept. 4th. and I got on these bucks right away, but the bigger deer were still in velvet, which I am not really into. I had this specific buck in bow range 3 or 4 times since the opener but he was still furry. The last day was Saturday the 11th, and he was starting to rub.
I figured if I would take Wednesday off of work and he would be browned up. I camped up there on tuesday night, woke up at daylight spotted him and probably 10 other bucks feeding down the ridge. I circled around in front of them and let him feed to me. I took the shot at 46 yards steep down hill, and hit him perfect. He ran probably 40 yards and tumbled another 20 yards. Got both lungs. We drug him all the way up the ridge over the next three hours until we got 30 yards from a road. I didnt realize big muleys are so big, I think this buck weighed more than my cow elk from last year. We were spent and hooked a rope up to him and pulled him the last few yards. I will attach another picture, when all the work was finally done!!!
There didnt seem to be a ton of deer in all of my scouting, but when I got into them they were in big groups.
The date is right on the first picture. The other camera was messed up. Alot of people have asked if my name is Zac Brown, and no its not. I do like "a little bit of chicken fried"
