the hunt was really fun. Jerry didn't have any photos of the big bucks he was after and I wish he could gotten one of them. He sure worked hard! My daughter Lindsay had a blast the few days we were there. I think the best part of the hunt was one of the bucks Jerry did show you. It is a 24" or so buck that wont score very much but it had a cool story attached with it ill share with ya.

Jerry had his boy by his side and I had my daughter by mine. we followed this buck for about 15 minutes. The buck seemed to be more annoyed by the flies then he was at us even though the kids as well as myself were practically yelling shoot it shoot it. lol. Jerry said he couldn't make the shot. LOL BS the buck was exactly 40 yards, not 43, not 41 but 40! He could have shot its eye out at that distance. LOL

Well he finally said he would shoot it if it got up. Ya the buck bedded down with us yelling. Just as he said he would shoot it the buck stood up stretched and offered his vitals. It might have been as big as a barn. lol Well Jerry let down and the buck took off. He said he couldn't shoot such a stupid animal. lol Ill never forget the saying his boy let out as he through himself to the ground. "This is gay"! The poor kid has been on several hunts in the bookcliffs and has seen his grandpa, uncles, dad and various others pass on literally probably a 1,000 bucks over the last few years and he has never been there for the kill. Id prolly say the same if I were in his shoes lol

The only bad part was I also got a flat tire. That place eats tires!!

There are no big bucks in Utah! LOL

Jerry great story great buck. I m with you wish it lasted longer. I like all the pics especialy getting kids envolved and teaching them ethics. I guess I got lucky on the tire situation. Im going back with a friend on his rifle tag and cant wait. Congrats again.

You picked a fine camping spot. We camped there many times back in the 80's. The draw just to the west is where I chased a monster one year during archery season. Some great memories.
