Would like to inform people of MM about the meeting last night at the Mowers home. Sportman need to be aware of the magnitude of this wolf problem, When you see what is happening in these western states it is shocking how out of control the population of wolves is getting.Elk heards in places of montana, wyo, and idaho are dwindling to nothing, the moose herd around jacksonhole is down to only a few animals, I have friends and clients that live in big piney and pinedale wyo who will tell you that the wolves in these areas have no fear of man and are having there way with elk on the winter feed grounds, another outfitter friend told about a band of bighorn sheep that winter high in the windriver mountains that were all killed by wolves this winter. This problem will not go away unless ALL sportsman unite together and win this war Bill HR6028. It was a impressive crowd at the meeting Represenitives from all western states, both REP and DEM. It goes to show that it is not about which party you represent but that all sportsman need to jump on the wagon together and DELIST WOLVES.
There is a web site http://biggameforever.org that everyone needs to check out to see what you can do to take part in this issue. SFW,MDF,RMEF have all come together to fight this it is a impressive team of people, Ryan Benson is the national director behind BIGGAME FOREVER. Very sharp guy.
I can tell you that it is going tocome down to who wins the vote, We as sportsmans have never seen such a more urgent issue in wildlife consevation.I would like to say thanks to Tom Mower for hosting the meeting and thanks to Miles Morretti, Don Peay,Bill christensen, Ryan Benson and all others involved for having the wit and balls to take on this issue,As just a every day sportsman I did not realize how big of a issue this is until the meeting last night.
So for all who read this post get involved and tell all of your hunting friends to vote on the wolf delisting......Paul Pennie

Hey thanks for the heads up ill check out the link on the issue.
Its definatly time to wipe this pleague off the mountain Utah has no need for them in our ecosystem sounds like we need to fix this problem while we can.

Paul is correct.....

The biggest problem facing wildlife in the west is the unregulated expansion of the wolf. WE NEED TO BAND TOGETHER AND PUT THE PETTY DIFFERENCES ASIDE.

The States need to have the ability to regulate the wildlife populations within their own State (including wolves). Currently we have the Feds and the antis calling the shots on the wolf issue.

The biggest problem WE face is the attitude that someone else will fight the fight so us. It's time to get our hands dirty and work together. Remember...."divided we fall".

We have all worked too hard and sacrificed too much to back down from this fight now. Jump on board or hang up the bow and gun since the wolf will replace you as a management tool. There will be no room for the hunter if the wolves are allowed to expand in the current unregulated manner.

Click on the link that Paul posted and don't run and hide from a good fight! We can will this war if YOU get involved!

I was struck by how critical it is for every HUNTER to join in the fight.
If you visit this site, but are willing to stand on the sideline of this battle, THEN YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE AN ANTI-HUNTER!
They have money and political power behind them now, but if we all stand together and offer whatever we can (financial or making calls, or whatever we can) then we will WIN.
PLEASE get involved and join Big Game Forever if nothing else. And get your hunting friends to join with us!

I agree wolves must be stopped. I do think this issue is very closely related to the habitat issue in that we are really fighting the same crowd- the extreme environmentalists and animal worshipers.

I also believe the issue of corrupt scientific research is at the heart of this issue as well. These people go to their buddies in academia looking for "science" to justify their objectives, and they usually get it.

Until the general public wakes up to the fact that most of the "science" out there is statistically flawed and very susceptible to
the objectives of political posturing, we will continue to be jerked around by the nose by these groups with their bought "science."

Most people I talk to haven't even heard of this. They don't have to be hunter's for you to educate them.

By the way, why are the extreme environmentalists so in love with the wolf? It is because of the extreme environmental philosophy now commonly accepted as "science." It is that water is God (Clean Water Act) and everything else is secondary. Because water is God, riparian areas are the "sacred cow." Because riparian areas are the "sacred cow," anything which disturbs a riparian area (cattle, deer, elk, etc.) is "the devil." Wolves were designed by "Mother Earth" to solve this problem. Wallah, wolves are the solution to environmental destruction.

And it is all justified by a corrupt statistically flawed research system.

Wake up America you've been taken for a ride.

Wildman.... True and correct.
Plus the fact that the antis would love the wolf to replace hunters as THE management tool.

It's a win win for the antis. They get to use their flawed science to stop hunting and remove State's rights!

All the management tools in the world won't overcome when the wolves decimate the herds.

The love for the wolf is that it will be the end of Big Game hunting in our National Forests without population control. I honestly am suprised some states have not just started having the season anyway by now.

Elk and wolf - it's hard to imagine it until you see this first hand. While mule deer hunting in the early morning in Wyoming I heard wolves before light. About an hour later I heard a terrible sound coming only about 200 yards from me. It was a bull elk 7 x 7 with 5 wolves on his tail. Elk can sure move a lot faster than I thought. I dont' know if they got him or not but he sure looked tired. I know what I wanted to do but didn't........I just didn't have a shovel with me. There is just nothing to stop them!

It is all tied together. Personally, I am convinced that the battle has to be bigger than wolves or habitat or even the environment.

They have the general public so blindfolded with earth worship that we can't even talk about these things without being labeled as "enemies to the environment."

I think the battle has to go much deeper. We have to expose the flaws of commonly accepted but scientifically sub-par research which allows political interest groups to use the "soap box" of science to quell any dissenters.

I know that is a lofty goal, but until we get past the front of "saving the environment" and attack them where their real strength is (claiming science is on their side) the average citizen will see it as no more than a bunch of hicks trying to save their "outdated traditions."

If the average citizen knew what a hoax most academic research is they would be pissed as hell.

Just seen on KSL news today.. Oct 26th

Feds comply with court order on wolves
October 26th, 2010 @ 11:10am
By Associated Press
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says it is publishing an official rule putting gray wolves back on the endangered species list in the Northern Rockies.

Tuesday's announcement follows an Aug. 5 federal court order that forced the cancellation of wolf hunts planned in the region this fall.

That order from U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy reversed the government's 2009 decision to lift protections for wolves in Idaho, Montana and parts of Oregon, Utah and Washington.

The Fish and Wildlife rule formalizes Molloy's order administratively.

There are more than 1,700 wolves across the Northern Rockies including Wyoming, where they were never taken off the endangered list. That number increased slightly last year despite hunts in Montana and Idaho.

Just kill wolves! No shovel needed. Just shoot and walk. Use monometal bullets such as barnes and shoot in gut if you don't want them falling around you. Here in Wyoming wolves have destroyed our hunting heritage by devastating big game herds in traditional hunting areas around Yellowstone park. That forces hunters into ever smaller hunting areas around the state putting to much demand on these other areas. It is to late for government help here in Wyoming. We have already lost what it took billions of dollars and 100 years of hunters dollars and restocking programs. Now it is just time for all out war on wolves. Just kill wolves. Take whatever time you have and help us kill wolves in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. At the same time support any groups trying to organize like the one listed. It will take a major across the board effort to began reversing the damage.

The Idaho govenor took the first major step and we all need to support him and influence other states to do the same. He had a press conference and stated the state wildlife agencies in Idaho would not investigate or seek to prosecute anyone for killing wolves. As govenor of the state he would not allocate one penny of state dollars to investigating or prosecuting wolf kills. Amen

It amazes me that some state agencies are still prtecting the wolves that will put the same agencies out of business and take their jobs. Without Hunters dollars western state game and fish agencies can not survive. With poor hunting conditions there will be no nonresident high dollor big game tags sold therefore the end of the agencies. The Idaho govenor saw this in front of him and took the lead in this fight. lets support him.
