Thats what I call a basket buck.

Beautiful dark antlers.

I'd shoot him for sure.

Score, which doesn't really mean a hill of beans, with a buck like that.

I think, just my opinion , I would say he would strech the tape at a good 175, maybe more.

No matter what the score, those antlers and their very dark color make him a keeper in my book, at least.

They always look bigger going away. He's a beautiful buck and I'd have to probably drop him. I would guess he's 170.

Pic was taken in Yosemite Valley last week - definitely a no hunting area - but if it was, he was a shooter in my book regardless of score!!

I really liked the chocolate antlers. I wondered about blacktails in the area because it was mainly forested, but I didn't think they got that big. Then again, I mainly hunt whitetails, with a public land mulie hunt in Wyoming every 2-3 years, so I don't have any experience with them.
