I hunted the south end of the Boulder unit and can say the same. In ten days of hunting (bow and Muzz combined) I saw a few small bucks and one four point but he was not a monster by any means. Ive seen 0 fawns from this year and very few yearling deer and just a few doe's. Without question they are gone. Me and my buddy hunted hard and that was all we got into some of those days we didnt see a deer and very few tracks in what would be great mule deer habitat (tons of water, tons of cliffrose, and other small forbes, acorns as well, no roads, good hiding cover) we hiked our tails off and glassed til our eyes were about to fall out of our heads. Another thing I noticed sign of other animals usually in the area was gone very few turkey's where there used to be alot, no rabbits, a few coyotes and one lion track. Our theory was the massive snow the area recieved last winter anihlated most wildlife there. The elk seemed to fair the best. The deer are few and far in between. I talked with other hunters and locals and they said they have seen very few deer this year and hardly any fawns. One farmer in Cannonville said he usually see's where 20+ deer bed in his alfalfa field regulary every year and said this summer he has seen only two beds. I also dont buy the good water this year scattered them B.S. its way beyond that because its not just deer. Good luck on your hunt.
