This is my and my sons first deer hunt and we are planning on going to the La Sal's this weekend. But that is all I know, can anyone give a recomendation on where I can put son on a buck in that area. Any suggestions would be helpful.

your better off chasing bear on that mountain, there is more bear than deer. spent 4 week hunting elk on that mountain and did not see but 5 deer on the whole hunt

Look on the south side or on south Mesa area.

Head to the old town of La Sal, and hunt on the back side of the mountain. I was down there camping and saw lots of deer. Also the lower elevations in the oak brush, on the same side. Good luck!
