Butcher Protocol

Took my deer into a butcher and told him I would like 50% into strip jerky and grind the rest so I could do my own ground and pressed jerky. Watching the guy write everything down and making sure it was correct I put $100 down and left.About a week later I recieved a phone call that my deer was done. I asked about a remaining balance and he said I had money coming back. Puzzled and knowing something was wrong, I asked why so cheap? He then told me I had called and changed my order to all ground so I can do my own jerky. I told him that was incorrect and that I hadn't been in contact with them since the day I left. Well to smooth things over he said he would do half into ground and pressed for me. Not too happy about it I agreed to take half into jerky from him. I then recieved a call saying my meat was ready and that the balance would be another $90. What would you do in this situation?
 
Doesn't sound like your options are very appealing. Pay the man i guess and like Kilo says, not go back.

Makes me glad that for the most part, i've been doing my own all these years.

A good Bud of mine took a little dink Blacktail off his Club over on the Coast. He had them pull the Backstraps off and the rest made into Salami. This was really a small bodied buck. Cost; $175. ouch!!

Goose, It's time you started cutting up your own. It's not that hard and you get exactly what you want.
 
No didn't expect them to foot the bill, just wondered more if you were the butcher what would you do? The way it was handled, the anonymous phone call to change the order was strange. Don't get me wrong, I have paid upwards of 250.00 to have a deer done into strip. I just don't really care for the ground and pressed from the place and really have liked the strip jerky.
 
Damn that sucks. I think to help out a little you could give me some of the Jerky. That way you wouldn't be stuck with so much freaking jerky

Thanks Gooseman! That is for damn sure. When is that worthless friend of ours going to have a Crab/beer feast again? What is his problem? Let me guess. He forgot we like Crab and Beer. I don't think so. Tell him to quit being so tight with all that money!

I wouldn't pay any more, yes I would expect him to do it for free as it was his mistake! I think that is a ridiculous comment do you expect him to flip the bill. Hell yes it was his mistake. If he was honest he wouldn't charge anything for his screw up. What founder said is right on never go back and let others around there know so he doesn't screw anyone else.

I'm going to get on him about taking care of his friends needs(beer/crab)and kick is a$$ off the couch. I haven't been out for honks yet. Just finished up with muzz elk. No lucky winners in that category. Coudn't get one to run into my bullet. Hows your big game gone this year? Here's my Idaho buck.

As far as the butcher goes, when I got there to pick up my deer he had somehow got strip for me. I coudn't tell you if the phone conversation was a screw up or he replaced the meat with another deer that was to be burger but either way I paid the man and it worked out.
