Does anyone have the newest P&Y record book? If so could you let me know the top 20th score. In 2005 I think 18 and 19 were tied at 232 and 20 was 229. Also how much will a deer that caliber shrink?
Thanks for the help.
Sorry for the poor quality as it's my cell camera.

....don't worry about that deer losing anything during the 60 day wait.....he will only lose a little spread and he has spread to spare....spread credit is only as much as the longest main beam and his inside spread looks like several inches more than that....

edit; i started to answer the question, then got distracted by starting a pot of Navy Beans n ham hocks, then came back and finished with my answer... D13er said it better than i did anyway...

Huge buck!! Congrats

So what are the scores your coming up with??? There are a ton of nontypical inches there ! Not sure what p and y 18th 19th but that back should be right up there with the best of em. Congrats. Let's hear the story and I wouldn't worry much about shrinkage.

Would love to hear your story about your Great hunt, That a awesome buck he will score pretty high for sure.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Holy hell could you see through his antlers when he was broadside? Whatta toad thanks for sharing a sweet pic.

You guys are going to hate me for this but it's my first bow kill. I missed a "big" one about a month ago and I'm glad I did. I was checking our irrigation wells the morning I saw him. He was about 1/2 mile away when he saw me and he was gone. I watched him run out of sight. Needless to say I took to rest of the day off work to look for him. I really had no idea where he went to so I just started walking and glassing. Within about 20 minutes I already had him spotted within 200 yards with pretty good cover the entire way. I started crawling up on him just knowing he was going to bust me. But I kept inching closer and closer. I was within 40 yards. I have a Primos can call which I used from there. I'm not sure if it was that or if he got a sniff of my scent. He jumped up and ran about 10 yards closer. He stood and looked at me straight on as I drew back. He turned broadside and I let one fly. He ran, stopped, and ran back to the same spot where I just hit him. By that time I had already nocked another arrow and I let the next one fly. He then took 2 steps and he was down. I was hunting by myself so I don't have any pics of me with him, just my bow.
Thanks for everyone?s replies

I don't know much about scoring but here is what my taxi said.
I lost 6 inches because of width and I had 60 some points of extras. He thought the broke tip would have been around 3 inches.

Man...You gotta post some "garage picks" of that bad boy. Anyway you can get some pics of that rack once you skin the skull? That is just too outstanding to not get some pics from other angles. What a magnificent animal! Congrats!

That is a very very nice buck! i would give my first born for a buck like that!

I am looking at that picture and wondering how the hell you killed that buck with a bow it looks like there is nothing to hide behind. Anyway that is one awsome buck congrats.

Congrats again man! Just wondered cuz there was a fella in my area that killed a stud nontypical and I just wanted to see it in person.
Are you willing to say what general part of CO you killed it in?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-23-10 AT 10:44AM (MST)[p]I drug him about 5 yards to get a better pic. Behind me is a heavy stubble field and to my left is a heavy milo field. But your right there isn't really any heavy cover.

Most monster bucks are low these days and away from presure.
