Last day on the Front

Holy crap the last few days have been fun. I hunted the South Side of Parleys on Black Friday and was in elk and some nice bucks all day. I decided to go up again today, and as luck would have it I ran into yet another nice buck. He looked 26-27" wide, tall, and heavy. I didnt have time to get to them, so I just glassed. As luck would have it there was another hunter on the same ridge as the buck. He was glassing me up too. I tried to motion to him him where the buck was as he was maybe 90yds away from the deer. The buck was firmly fixed on me so the guy had a good chance, but instead he motioned what looked like the middle finger to me, moved up the hill away from me and the buck, and sat with his back to me. I couldnt believe it! It seems some "front" hunters are quite friendly, and others feel they own the hill. Oh well his loss. Another hunter also told me he saw a 6 point bull with blood running down both sides (a high shot) so if you hit a bull in this area PM me, and I could tell you what canyon he was in. I already cant wait until next year, funnest hunt in the state as far as I'm concerned!

Yeah the hunt has been a blast this year...it was my first year hunting it and I can't wait for next year. It is a whole different experience hunting muleys in the rut in feet of snow. I was only able to go out for a few hours this morning but I did run into a decent 3x4 that I think I pushed right into another guy. I saw some really good bucks during the hunt and I learned alot about hunting deer later in the year with my bow.
