So I have been spending a lot of time out looking at the deer the past month by my house along I 15 close to Parowan. I come around the corner today and here is 4 dudes decked out in hunter orange gutting a doe. I went and checked the proclomation and discovered that the F-N Division of Whopping Retards (DWR) gave 100 doe tags. Got looking closer and saw that they already had another doe hunt in September when they killed 50 smoothies! Seriously? WTF!
By the way this is on 95% public land. Wow. What are they doing. I heard that the way they count deer is count deer turds and times it by thirteen. UNBELIEVABLE. They work for us. We need to fire their asses. WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS. Thanks for helping finish off the the herd on Panguitch Lake.

You would be suprised how many doe hunts they actually have. Last year they had a monroe doe hunt. This year they gave out 300 doe tags this year yes 300 for the monroe, and what a shocker it was only a three day hunt for general rifle. Becuase the deer herds are low, there low cause they issue out 300 doe tags. No wonder why we have no deer the DWR is killing them all off. Hey at least they cancelled the Panguitch lake valley hunt.

its not the divisions fault its the farmers. These farmers are complaing that the deer/elk are eating their crops, ect. If the division has to respond to so many complaints tags are issued so they dont have to pay $$$ to the farmers.

The farmers are just wanting a government $$$ handout and then complaining when they go hunting they don't see any bucks!

noting but a big circle jerk if you ask me.

This is the not so funny part option #2 passed and there getting the herd to objective ya now there buck to doe ratio!!!!!!!!!. Here is the sad part people really think there going to change and manage 29 units to quality ya right. I don't know about you all but I can see right were this road is headed and it's not going to be pretty when we get there seriously.

"finish off Panguitch lake herd" True true +100 cant second it enough. I thought they shut these stupid shoots down 100 does = 200 fawns = 300 deer needlessly eliminated this pisses me off. I witnessed full well farmers in Antimony ##### and moan and that entire herd was shot out and destroyed from riddle swale on the Boulder side to the entire north end of the Dutton. Now the herd in that area has dropped well below 50% of what it was in the early 90's. WFJ can somebody put up the FU money to start lawsuits or start tranqulizing and transplanting this slaughter is Bull!!!!

And the damn Buck doe ratio can be manipulated to make them look like they do a good job. 15 to 100 eh need to up that ratio to 150 to 1000 and make sure they have the thousand. I truly believe we have less than 100,000 deer in this state they claim we have 302,000 if thats the case I know for a fact in 1994 when I started hunting deer after a hard winter we had to have a million the deer are 1/10th what they used to be and we still shoot does. What a crock and thats just what theyre doing. Deer management in Utah Sux. Deer Hunting In Utah is doomed.

I don't know about this current situation, and I am all for grazing permits for ranchers BUT, the dwr needs to have the nads to say: If you pizz and moan about the deer/elk on your ground in the winter, we will see that the blm/ forest cut back grazing permits in the summer to make up for lost habitat. Giving into some of these guys that run cows/sheep on public ground all summer, but won't allow ANY hunting on their own ground, but don't want 1 deer/elk to eat one blade of grass and if they do they expect compensation is BS at best.

My bad on the ratio. Im just T.O'ed this doe shoot stuff has to stop. I was really seeing red when I read the post! There has to be a better way. Everywhere ive seen this crap go on the deer have never recovered. Point in fact pertaining to my comment about the Dutton deer herd on the north end. My dad had a late dutton bull tag while I spent the days glassing I counted over 100 head of Bull elk and about 300 cows in deer creek, cottonwood, deep creek, and 4 yes 4 deer all doe's with no fawns. 500,000+ not estimated eithier has to be an exact number before anymore of this crap happens. You cant build a herd shooting doe's.

True SW- Land owners need to be responsible for keeping wildlife OFF OF THEIR PROPERTY, not receive government subsidies for "destroyed crops"... They need to put up high fences or whatever to protect their crops... Depridation tags are a joke- as are wildlife dollars going to ranchers and farmers...

I agree QUIT KILLING THE DOES and we will see an increase in the deer population this isn't rocket science everyone its common sense which the DWR and SFW doesn't have!

Maybe if a couple thousand of us went down the the SLC office and had a little come to Jesus protest they would listen to us.

ya they cut are hunt 3 days in n.e region & we still have stupid doe hunts. not to mention ungodly amount of cow elk tags.& we have hard time even finding elk during general season.why!!!!!!!!!!

I have a friend that was on the fishlake looking for lion tracks and ran into the game warden walking down the road. He asked what are you doing the warden told him he was counting deer and that there was a bunch in there by the number of tracks in the road. My friend told him to walk over the hill and look and the whole flat was full of sheep. This is the kinda people we have working for us. He was counting sheep tracks and thought they were deer. What a JOKE!!!

I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I do know that helping the deer population starts with having accurate counts to start with. Why not utilize the sportsmen that are in the field anyway and let us help? I would love to help out. I am out there almost everyday anyway.
Oh. I forgot. That is using common sense which seems to be against the rules for the DWR.

Not sure about this but don't they count deer later in the winter so they can account for winter kill? Oh sorry that would make way to much sense lets count them now and then have the dreaded 4ft storm and expect them to survive through that and not adjust the numbers and KEEP KILLING DOES thats the ticket to growing more deer!
