AZ hunter education bonus point, last chance!

For those that need or what to earn the permanent bonus point for ALL of Arizona's big game species, there will be a class held in Kingman, AZ on Saturday, January 8, 2011.

This is a one-day, 12-hour class and is open for ALL non-residents and residents too who have taken and graduated from a hunter education class in any other state since 1980.

How often are these classes offered to non-residents? And are they ever offered at different locations?

These supplemental classes are offered twice a year in Kingman. I understand that G&F may be offering classes in other areas of AZ as we get more volunteer staff.

Next class in Kingman after this one will be in April, date TBD.

Those who take this January class will have the point entered for them in time for the elk/antelope draws in February.

Thanks Don. I won't be able to make it to the January class, but this is something I've been planning to do since I started applying in AZ. If you could post a heads up any time this class is being offered I'm sure a lot of us would really appreciate it.

No problem! Right now in Region III (Northwest Arizona) we have and will continue to have two scheduled supplemental classes per year. WE try to schedule one the first Saturday in January AFTER New Year's as a lot of folks fly into Vegas. Plus archery javelina/deer is open, so many make it a class and hunt adventure.

This class also assures those who take it that they will get the extra point for the antelope elk draws in February.

The April class is designed for those who want the point before the sheep/deer draws. That date is not set in stone, and varies year to year depending on the availability of volunteer instructors. However we have had an April class now for many years and I assure you, will continue to do so.

We are going to start training instructors from other areas so they too can teach these classes.
