This buck was killed by Dennis Wintch. It's a 40" 9x9 and gross scores 262". It is truly one of the most impressive bucks ever killed. I had the opportunity to mount the original antlers on a lifesize mount a few years ago, and the buck has every feature you could ever dream of in a mule deer.

Thanks for the info. Even holding the real rack of this buck would be cool but to taxi it !! Post some pics of the mount if ya would. Thanks

Oh my, that's a Great buck!

Dennis is a friend of mine but he hasn't taken my hunting with him. I guess we're not that close. haha

He's killed some toads and for one hunter he has one of the best personal collections around.

I remember when I killed my first 30"+ buck. Dennis was very complimentary and truely excited for me. Class guy and a good hunter.

That is a old photo I had, I dont think they did photo shop back then ? I have heard a few differnt things about that photo tho. You can tell he is sitting aways behind the buck .

In the original photo, Post #1, shows the rack mounted on a board. Guess the guy figured that he'd get a bigger one next year?

I know how being short of money can be but that rack needs a nice cape on a great mount!!

Travis just saw you on the sportsman channel. Hooked on utah show Royal point ranch elk hunt.

Ive never hunted Utah and from the sounds of things on MM probably never will. Kinda familar with just general locations of the states hunting holes. So my question s is this?~ pauns buck Henry northern ? How long ago was it taken?
Thanks for sharing those pics. This buck is a toad. The replica is cool to look at and starts conversation with everyone who sees it but... funner to dream about one day shooting something remotely close to this buck. Congrats to this hunter. Sounds like a class act

The buck is a southern Utah buck. General season deer. Some folks claim to have seen the deer on the Paunsaugunt earlier in the year, but these deer migrate a long way. Lots of big bucks killed around the boundaries of the Pauns in the old days while the unit was closed down for seven years. Now it doesn't happen much though.

Big John, yep that was me on the sportsmans channel.

I will try to find a photo of the mount and post it. Dennis sold the buck a few years ago, and the guy who bought it took the antlers off the lifesize mount and did it on a shoulder mount to fit in his collection with the other shoulder mounts.

Here is a photo of the buck in my old shop. Not the greatest photo, but it's the real rack on the buck. The most impressive rack I've ever seen. I've mounted a lot of replicas of some of the biggest bucks out there, and to me this buck is the one I'd take hands down.

Using the Felenoulator Rack System it looks like the field photo has been faked. In my photo now both heads, eye to eye and eye to nose are the same size... but the field photo rack is now 119% bigger than what it should be. NOTE: The Felenoulator has and error margin of 1-2%.

This buck is what makes us all hunt every year!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-31-10 AT 01:27PM (MST)[p]If all of you only knew where that buck was taken, it wouldnt suprise you at all why he is so big. The original photo is not been chopped at all in any way. If you think that buck is big, you should see the one he got in sanora mexico, the buck had broke the one side about 10" up from the skull plate, but had mass like a bull elk. Heaviest horned deer I have ever had in my hands. And all he could say was he wanted the buck that was big enough to break him off.

post some pics of that one I know a taxi who has a single white shed from a place down in ole mexico that looks like a tree trunk Never even imagined mass like it Only has one side of it tho
